Cees-Willem van Vliet

Biography


Cees- Willem van Vliet (b. 1980) studied organ and churchmusic with Jan Raas and Reitze Smits at the Utrecht School of Arts and finished his masterexams at the Royal Conservatory Antwerp (Artesis) with Joris Verdin. At this moment he studies choral conducting with Luc Anthonis and harpsichord with Ewald Demeyere.

He works as a church-musician at Ipse de Bruggen, Zwammerdam, an institute for people with a mental disability. He set up a churchmusic practice with several choirs and a concert pracitce, which is very unique in the Netherlands and throughout Europe.

Beside this, Cees-Willem gives recitals as an organist, and he is a much appreciated accompanist of choirs and soloists. He also works as a choral conductor of several choirs. He gives lectures about churchmusic, liturgy and social integration. In his artistic work he loves to create total events and he likes to combine the great classical music with as much contemporary repertoire as possible.
